AI Chat

AI Chat is the in-product assistant for navigation, workflow explanation, billing questions, and troubleshooting. It is not a content generation surface, but it is the fastest way to understand how the rest of Sonic AI fits together.

What Powers It

AI Chat connects to the deployment's configured server-side AI provider. The exact model or provider can change without any UI changes, and the chat service works only while that backend is reachable.

Server-Side

The inference path is controlled by the deployment rather than a hard-coded browser integration.

Streaming

Responses stream live through the chat sheet instead of waiting for a full block response.

Threaded

Messages are organized into persisted chat threads with titles and history.

How to Open AI Chat

01

Click the chat button from the dashboard layout to open the full-height sheet.

02

Ask a navigation, billing, or workflow question and watch the reply stream in real time.

03

Use the history button to reopen prior threads that were saved to your account.

04

Start a new thread when you want a clean context window without deleting your older history.

What You Can Ask

Tool Navigation

Ask where to find pages, tools, and common actions inside Sonic AI.

Where do I open the Writer page from the dashboard?

Workflow Guidance

Get product-level guidance on whether to use Writer, Storyboard, Dubbing, TTS, or Trends.

Which Sonic AI tool should I use first if I need a script and then visuals?

Feature Questions

Ask what a feature does, when to use it, and what result to expect.

What is the difference between Writer and Storyboard?

Billing & Credits

Use the chat for subscription, credits, and product policy questions.

Does AI Chat use credits, and where can I check my balance?

Troubleshooting

Describe a product issue and get the shortest path to the right page or next step.

Why is the storyboard page not loading for me?

Access and Persistence

AI Chat currently does not deduct credits. Threads are persisted to chat history for the signed-in user, which means refreshes do not destroy prior conversations even though a new thread starts with a fresh context.

Limitations to Know

Current Thread Context Only

The assistant reasons over the active thread. Older threads stay in history, but they do not automatically merge into the new conversation.

No File Uploads

The current chat panel is text-only. It does not accept files or images as message inputs.

Backend Dependency

The UI depends on a working server-side AI connection. If that provider is unavailable, chat requests will fail until backend connectivity is restored.

No Content Creation

AI Chat does not write stories, scripts, prompts, translations, or storyboard scenes. It routes you to the right tool instead.

Troubleshooting

No response or request failed

AI Chat depends on the deployment's configured server-side provider. If that backend is unavailable, requests can fail even when the UI loads normally.

Why did a fresh thread lose context?

Context follows the current chat thread. Starting a new thread resets the working context even though older threads remain available in history.

Why will it not write my script?

The chat prompt is intentionally constrained to product guidance, billing help, and workflow assistance. Content creation requests are redirected to the appropriate tool.

Power User Tips

  • Use AI Chat to choose a tool before you spend credits on the wrong workflow.
  • Ask about plan restrictions when a page is gated or a control looks locked.
  • Keep one thread per problem so the current context stays focused and the history list remains useful.
  • If the assistant keeps redirecting you, that usually means the requested task belongs in Writer, Storyboard, Dubbing, or TTS.
